MY BIRTHDAY TRIP

Jun 05
2011

Hi all, as always its been a while since my last update, but I have been travelling beyond and above lately..

I have been on 10 planes in 4 weeks and I dont want to see another plane for at least a few weeks.. I even cancelled 2 trips.. 1 to Adelaide and 1 to Sydney so i can settle back into life and spending time with Lynn.

So I went to my favourtie place in the world for my Birthday, America. I wanted to make this Birthday a special one as its was the ‘big’ one and the trip turned out to be more fabulous than I even expected it to be..

So many friends made it special but I have to especially thank Gab for putting it all together with me, travelling with me,  and occasionally putting up with me too ! LOL.

I also need to thank my best friends & Family  for my Birthday gifts;  Jade, Paul & Jeff, Ross, Malcolm, Ant, Christy, Karen, Pat, Glenda & Mum… and the list goes on..

But I am truly lucky to have so many wonderful friends over in the good old USA too ..

My first stop once we landed at LAX was a quick Breakfast with my Aussie Daughter Courtney Act, who also happened to be in LA at the same time ..

Breakfast at Cecconi's LA with Courtney.

After that Gab and I did the divine drive to Las Vegas where at the half way point we stopped at Peggy Sue’s 50’s diner and had the funniest time talking to the locals.

Not long after that we arrived in Las Vegas and checked into the Flamingo Casino, and before you knew it we were sitting front row and the Donny & Marie Concert .. I even got taken backstage to meet them and I have to say both Marie and Donny were so sweet to me..

By this time Gab and I got on a roll and headed after that to the divine ‘Diva’s in Vegas’ show at the Imperial Palace Casino, where I saw my mate Larry Edwards do the best impersonation of Tina Turner ever !

Needless to say more drinks, another club and a trip to good ole Johhny Rockets followed before we finally slept..  We shopped till we dropped the next day and went to see the glamorous Holly Madison in ‘Peepshow’ that night… More Vegas fun ..

But before we knew it our Vegas time was up and we were on a Virgin America Flight to New York City .. At first I found it hard to adjust to the smaller, closed in environs but I got my NY swing on after a few days and must say I truly started to love the city.. so many highlights

Statue Of Liberty NYC.

Alex, Matt & Me at the Lincoln Center NYC

Lynda Carter in Concert, Kylie Minogue in Concert, Priscilla on Broadway, a horse & buggy ride around central park, a cruise down the Hudson river, Time Square .. Catching up with the fabulous Daniel Garafoli and Miss Pennytration ( who were both in NYC from Sydney too )  at the Sex & The City Cafe for lunch, or simply a good shopping spree with gabriel …

But I have to say the best thing about NYC was seeing my old mates Chris and his divine dog Frances and my old Sydney Mate Ian ..  we shared lunches and walk and dinner and chats and when i left them both on my last night in NYC I had tears and was very sad..  I have been back a month now and I still want to get back on the plane and spend more time with them both..

After a glorious week in NYC we were off to LA again but this time for a longer stay.. Again so many highlights..

The Cinco da Mayo Festival, Shopping on Melrose, The Beverly Center, Ricky Martin Concert, Hollywood Bvde, Santee Alley, Dancing With The Stars, Mickys in West Hollywood..

But again the highlights were my friends in LA my Aussie mates who are LA residents now the Amazeballs Suzi Malone, the Incredible Leni and the ever Zoolander Pose Ben Pauley.. These friends looked after me above & beyond the call of duty and I love them for it ..

So my trip was more than I could dream, and I will be forever grateful for the fun times and special moments with my friends ..

I am finally starting to get into the swing of things being home after a month but still wake up every morning wishing I was having breakfast at the Crepe shop on Santa Monica with Gabriel…

Oh well its only 9 months before my next trip to Vegas ! Yeah !!!!!!
